OMA completes Hangzhou Prism, a pyramidal mixed-use tower in China
OMA has completed Hangzhou Prism, a 106.5-metre-tall pyramidal mixed-use building in Hangzhou, China. Located in the Future Tech City development, the 43,000-square-metre structure houses a hotel (20,000 sq m), residences (10,000 sq m), offices (5,000 sq m), and commercial spaces (8,000 sq m). Its shape is defined by two oblique facades with projecting cubic balconies and a large void at ground level. A public square and atrium at the base connect to an adjacent park. OMA partner Chris van Duijn described it as a 'three-dimensional village' for young professionals and visitors, designed to maximize synergy and interaction. The design was first revealed in 2019. The project was led by van Duijn and project architect Michael Hadjistyllis. Photography by Tu Ximeng.
