Olympe Ramakrishna showcases fabric portraits of Malayali mothers and daughters in Thiruvananthapuram exhibition

In Thiruvananthapuram, India, French artist Olympe Ramakrishna has launched an exhibition named 'Voices of the Western Coast.' This showcase includes fabric portraits of three Malayali mothers alongside their daughters, all of whom reside outside the state of Kerala. Ramakrishna's artwork honors Malayali women who have relocated from their homeland. The exhibition emphasizes the journeys and cultural identities of women from the Malayali diaspora. Through textile portraiture, the artist delves into themes of migration and the bonds between mothers and daughters in migrant communities. Currently, the exhibition is open for viewing in Thiruvananthapuram.
