Olivius launches with three distinct graphic novels
In autumn 2012, a new graphic novel collection called Olivius launched, a joint venture between Éditions de l'Olivier and Éditions Cornelius. The first three titles are "Un grand écrivain" (first volume of "Les Filles de Montparnasse") by Nadja, "Cul Nul" by Anne Baraou and Fanny Dalle-Rive, and "Palacinche" by Caterina Sansone and Alessandro Tota. The collection aims to bridge literature and comics for adult readers. Nadja's work, set in 1870s Montparnasse, follows four young women—a writer, painter, model, and singer—and uses simple color washes to resolve contradictions. "Cul Nul" collects erotic anecdotes with a light touch, while "Palacinche" is a family memoir tracing Italian emigrants from Fiume via Central European palacinke crêpes. The collection emphasizes heterogeneity in genre and style.
