Oliver Laric and Ceramiche Refin launch Metamorphoses porcelain stoneware tiles

architecture-design · 2026-05-12

Italian company Ceramiche Refin has collaborated with artist Oliver Laric to create Metamorphoses, a large-scale porcelain stoneware wall covering that changes appearance depending on viewing angle. The collection evolved from a project presented at Milan design week 2025, which featured 19 sculptures exploring transformation. The tiles feature a lenticular three-dimensional structure with linear relief employing two geometries and two textures—one light and smooth, the other grainy and burnished. Light and reflection enhance visual variation, adding drama and sensory depth. Available in three metallic finishes: Bronze Earth, Copper Sand, and Steel Rock, reflecting the materiality of Laric's original sculptures. Dimensions are 600 x 9 x 1200 millimetres.
