Olimpia Zagnoli's 'La Grande Estate' Opens at Mutty in Castiglione delle Stiviere

Italian illustrator Olimpia Zagnoli, known for her collaborations with The New York Times and The New Yorker, presents her solo exhibition 'La Grande Estate' at Mutty in Castiglione delle Stiviere from September 23 to October 15. Born in 1984, the Emilia-Romagna native now based in Milan has created a series of digital works focused on landscape, inspired by a residency at Mutty Temporary Bookstore in Castagneto Carducci, Tuscany, last August. The exhibition includes preparatory sketches alongside finished pieces, offering insight into her artistic process. Zagnoli, who has designed covers for Feltrinelli's reissues of Henry Miller and Mishima's 'Reflections on Death', employs various techniques to explore the interaction between her work and the exhibition space. She distinguishes her practice from fine art, expressing disinterest in the competitive aspects of art fairs and collecting, preferring illustration's accessibility and transparency. The show runs at Mutty, Viale Maifreni 54.
