Olafur Eliasson to Build Lego City in Milan for Nicola Trussardi Foundation

exhibition · 2026-05-04

In 2020, the Nicola Trussardi Foundation is back in Milan with a project called "The Collectivity Project," created by artist Olafur Eliasson. Kicking off on April 14, 2020, just ahead of the miart fair starting on April 16, this initiative invites everyone to help build a dream city using white LEGO bricks. While the venue remains undisclosed, it’s set in the historic heart of Milan. Eliasson, who was born in 1967 in Copenhagen, first introduced this idea in 2005 at the 3rd Tirana Biennale, with later iterations in places like Oslo and New York. Under Beatrice Trussardi's leadership, the foundation has been known for its impactful art projects since 2003.
