OGR Torino Opens with Alva Noto, Tuttofuoco, Kentridge
The new OGR (Officine Grandi Riparazioni) cultural hub in Turin opened on September 30, 2017, with a live streaming event broadcast to 150 countries via Boiler Room, which has over 35 million monthly views. The opening featured the world premiere of Alva Noto's audiovisual live show 'UNIEQAV' in the Duomo, a 19-meter-high hall. Contemporary art installations include Patrick Tuttofuoco's immersive 'Tutto infinito' in the 9,000-square-meter Manica Nord, a sci-fi landscape with red earth and totemic sculptures created with CasaOz children and Zonarte network. Arturo Herrera contributed 'Track,' a mural symbolizing interconnection and fluidity. William Kentridge's 'Procession of Reparationists' was installed outdoors, described by Fulvio Gianaria, President of the Fondazione per l'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT, as the latest addition to OGR's collection.
