OGR Torino 2020 program includes Trevor Paglen, Magdalena Abakanowicz

OGR Torino has announced its 2020 program, featuring a solo exhibition by Trevor Paglen in Binario 1 with a new site-specific work, a summer collaboration with the La Caixa Foundation in Barcelona curated by Jessica Stockholder, and a major autumn co-production with Tate Modern for the first large retrospective of Polish sculptor Magdalena Abakanowicz. Italian artists remain central: Monica Bonvicini's installation runs until February 9, young artists like Beatrice Marchi participate in the second chapter of "Dancing is what we make of falling" curated by Samuele Piazza and Valentina Lacinio, and Masbedo will debut a new project in Binario 2 during Artissima. Director Nicola Ricciardi states that OGR is fully funded by Fondazione CRT, with recent interest from private sponsors. He emphasizes the challenge of building new audiences without resorting to easy entertainment, and criticizes the lack of public investment in contemporary art.
