Officine Saffi opens new Milan headquarters in 19th-century glassworks

Founded in 2011 by Laura Borghi, the Fondazione Officine Saffi has established a new location at via Niccolini 35a in Milan's Chinatown, housed in a historic glassworks from the 19th century. This venue features a courtyard, an exhibition gallery, a ceramics laboratory, a production workshop (Officine Saffi Lab), and an apartment for artists in residence. The opening exhibition, titled (un)Known Territories, will take place from May 29 to July 31, 2024, showcasing 32 finalists selected from over 900 submissions from 60 countries for the Officine Saffi Prize. Among the notable participants are Carolina Raquel Antich and Javier Bravo de Rueda, the latter winning the €10,000 acquisition prize for his innovative terracotta piece, Animita. A Focus section will also spotlight six Dutch artists.
