Officina Libraria: 450+ Titles and Counting Since 2006

Founded in October 2006 in Milan, Officina Libraria is an independent Italian publisher specializing in art history, photography, and illustrated books. Now based in Rome, it has published over 450 titles across multiple imprints: LO (children's books, about 40 titles) and Ab Ovo (health and nutrition, nearly 10 titles). The press focuses on niche subjects often overlooked by larger publishers, including Renaissance art (80 titles), jewelry design, wax sculpture, and architectural history. Recent notable publications include the complete catalogue of sculptures at Villa Borghese, a series of facsimile sketchbooks co-published with the Musée du Louvre (nine volumes), and Ferdinando Fagnola's 'Viaggio a Bandiagara'. Upcoming releases include monographs on Gaetano Giulio Zumbo by Andrea Danino, 'Fantasmagorie' by Tania De Nile on 17th-century Flemish and Dutch witchcraft imagery, 'I luoghi degli impressionisti' by Giorgio Villani, and guides to Palazzo Vecchio's grotesques and the Galleria Sabauda's masterpieces. The press also reissues classics like Natalie Zemon Davis's 'The Return of Martin Guerre' in its 'Storie' series.
