Office of Tangible Space designs Basis headquarters with custom millwork for collaboration

architecture-design · 2026-05-20

Office of Tangible Space has completed the interior design of Basis's new 12,000-square-foot headquarters in Manhattan's Flatiron District. The interdisciplinary design studio used custom millwork as wall barriers to foster continuous collaboration across workspaces, a cafe, and lounges. The tech company's ethos of clarity and first-principles thinking guided the design, which required supporting both focused work and frequent collaboration. The design process was iterative, with Office of Tangible Space staging test layouts for Basis employees to determine the program arrangement. The circulation path features crisp white walls and large beige stone floor tiles.
