Office for Roundtable and JXY Studio create transformable greenhouse pavilion for Fei Arts in Guangzhou
A joint initiative between JXY Studio and the Office for Roundtable has resulted in a modular greenhouse that doubles as a community pavilion, named Your Greenhouse Is Your Kitchen Is Your Living Room. This steel A-frame installation, featuring polycarbonate panels that can be opened, was set up at the Fei Arts Museum in Guangzhou in September 2024 for a duration of four months. It can shift from a closed greenhouse to an open venue, accommodating crops such as potatoes and herbs. Architect Leyuan Li emphasized that the pavilion merges the realms of nature and human-made structures. Emerging from studies on food insecurity during the Covid-19 pandemic, it encourages community involvement. The pavilion also served as a venue for events, maintained by local volunteers, with harvested produce utilized in workshops. This project is nominated for the 2025 Dezeen Awards.
