Odile Decq on Rome, Macro Museum, and Her New Monograph

Odile Decq, a French architect born in 1955 in Laval, recently spent two days in Rome, where she delivered a talk at Casa dell'Architettura and a lecture at Villa Medici. A preview of her monograph, created in collaboration with LucePlan's Patrizia Vicenzi, is set to be showcased at the Frankfurt Book Fair from October 11 to 15, 2017. During her visit, Decq spoke about civic engagement, the use of color, and her Confluence Institute in Lyon, which focuses on training active citizens. She characterized Rome as a 'paradigm' struggling with modern architecture. She also mentioned the Macro museum's decline and the potential for Giorgio De Finis to take the lead. Currently, Decq is developing Diagonal 0, a residential tower in Barcelona, and expressed her admiration for the forthcoming Venice Architecture Biennale, curated by Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara.
