Odessa Straub's Poetic Abstraction at ACAPPELLA, Naples

Odessa Straub (New York, 1989) presents 'Tears in housebreaking letting the cold' at ACAPPELLA gallery in Naples, running until December 1, 2016. The American artist's polymaterial works, such as 'Coldening' and 'Man Up Boy, It’s Just That' (both 2016), embody a poetic abstraction that invites viewers to engage with sensory phenomena—sound, smell, touch—as abstract phenomenologies. Her pop-up visual constructions on walls reflect liminal spaces between interiority and exteriority, dream and being, as seen in 'Gaped On The Sill' (2016) and 'Pinky Piglet Ponder' (2016).
