ODA: A New Hybrid Art Space Opens in Milan's Porta Venezia
A new hybrid art space called ODA has opened at Via Malpighi 8 in Milan's Porta Venezia district, blending a neighborhood workshop with an international outlook. Founded by Ece Iyigun, ODA offers a diverse program spanning ceramics, drawing, and embroidery, with courses, workshops, and events aimed at promoting art as expression, leisure, and healing. The space is open to all—adults and children, professionals and enthusiasts—serving as a community hub where visitors can learn, relax, and have fun. Artists from various backgrounds will lead monthly or single-session courses, sharing their unique approaches to making art. External artists can rent workstations with tools and materials, and present their work during open studio days. On weekends, ODA also hosts brunch and aperitivo. Iyigun, born in Turkey, studied at Parsons School of Design in New York, where she lived until 2007 working for a creative agency. After moving to Italy, she taught Print Making at Boston University in Venice before relocating to Milan in 2018, where she founded Beebee Lab, a children's workshop specializing in process art.
