October 2025 Global Art Highlights: From Amsterdam's DuBois Adaptation to LagosPhoto Biennial
From October 3-5, International Theater Amsterdam will debut a collaborative adaptation of W.E.B. DuBois's 1920 tale 'The Comet,' featuring performances by André Holland and Okwui Okpokwasili, alongside contributions from Precious Okoyomon, Cameron Rowland, and Arthur Jafa. This production is inspired by Saidiya Hartman's essay 'The End of White Supremacy' and was commissioned by the Hartwig Art Foundation. Meanwhile, ruangrupa in Jakarta is marking its 25th anniversary with a festival during the same dates. The Dream City Festival in Tunis runs from October 3-19, showcasing political art installations and film screenings. The Hammer Museum's Made in LA biennial is scheduled from October 5 to March 1, and Kunsthalle Wien will exhibit Guan Xiao's 'TEENAGER' from October 8 to January 11. Additional events include Ghost 2568 in Bangkok and 'RUSH(ES)' in London, along with exhibitions in Paris and Bogotá. The LagosPhoto Festival Biennial 2025 is set for October 25 to November 29.
