October 2022 Art Awards: Giulia Cenci Wins Cairo Prize, Max Mara Finalists Announced

Giulia Cenci won the 21st Premio Cairo with her work 'Untitled', featuring a taxidermy wolf cast in a jacuzzi, referencing Jacques-Louis David's 'Death of Marat'. The prize includes €25,000. The second edition of Premio La Grande Bellezza by Starhotels awarded Andrea Bouquet for his cabinet 'Primitivo', praised for blending Piedmontese cabinet-making with contemporary design. Daniel Borselli received the Premio Scripta for young art critics for his essay 'Meet Me at the End of the World: Art, Public Space, and Climate Crisis'. The Max Mara Art Prize for Women announced finalists Rebecca Bellantoni, Bhajan Hunjan, Onyeka Igwe, Zinzi Minott, and Dominique White; the winner will be named in spring 2023. Alessandra Ferrini won the third MAXXI BVLGARI Prize for her work 'Gaddafi in Rome: Notes for a Film', which enters the MAXXI collection; Silvia Rosi won the public prize for 'Teacher Don't Teach Me Nonsense'.
