October 2020 Art Book Releases: From Tom Ford to Vittorio Sgarbi

Artribune highlights six new art and culture books released in October 2020. Umberto Mentana publishes the first monograph on Tom Ford, tracing his path from Studio54 to creative director at Gucci, founder of his own brand, and director of 'A Single Man' and 'Nocturnal Animals'. Paola Gribaudo's 'Condividere. Memorie dal lockdown' collects 92 testimonies from artists, writers, doctors, and others on their Covid lockdown experience, presented at the Accademia Albertina di Torino with 40 of the 92 authors present. Paola Tognon's 'Contemporary Locus' documents the Bergamo-based project that since 2012 has temporarily reactivated disused spaces with site-specific works by international artists. Lauretta Colonnelli's 'Le muse nascoste' uncovers forgotten female protagonists behind masterpieces, reconstructing their biographies and relationships with artists. Giulio Giorello and Vittorio Sgarbi's 'Il bene e il male. Dio, Arte, Scienza' dialogues on God through art from Masaccio to Munch. Guido Montanari's 'Il Giappone dalla A alla Z', edited by Paola Gribaudo with illustrations by Lorena Alessio, offers an alphabetical exploration of Japanese culture by the former deputy mayor of Turin and architecture professor at Politecnico di Torino.
