Ocean Space 2021 Program Tackles Climate Change Through Art and Science
TBA21–Academy’s Ocean Space in Venice, led by Markus Reymann, revealed its 2021 program online due to the pandemic. Situated in the Chiesa di San Lorenzo, the venue emphasizes ocean awareness through artistic expression. Chus Martínez will take over as curator for the 2021-22 biennium, following Barbara Casavecchia. The inaugural exhibition, The Soul Expanding Ocean, will take place from March 20 to October 17, showcasing Taloi Havini, who is currently on the R/V Falkor. Additionally, the exhibition Territorial Agency: Oceans in Transformation, curated by Daniela Zyman, will reopen on March 20 and run until August 29. Ocean Space is also maintaining digital outreach, with a talk scheduled for December 15 and a podcast episode featuring Alberto Toso Fei on December 17. Applications for the Ocean Fellowship will be accepted until January 10.
