Obituary: Getulio Alviani Remembered by Arianna Rosica
Arianna Rosica, curator and art critic, remembers Italian artist Getulio Alviani, who died in 2018. They met 20 years ago through Giancarlo Politi. Alviani, known for his rigor and disdain for the art market, contributed to Flash Art and the Tirana and Prague Biennales. He was a close friend of artists like Mario Ceroli, Josef Albers, and others. Rosica recalls his habit of reusing stamps, his love for Cortina's mountains, and his aversion to technology. He wrote by hand and insisted on publishing his texts integrally. His Milan apartment was a total work of art, housing works by Morellet, Bill, Castellani, Albers, Fontana, Ceroli, and Accardi.
