Oasis Documentary Premieres in London and Venice 2026

The 83rd Venice International Film Festival will feature the world premiere of "Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger," a documentary chronicling the monumental Oasis reunion of 2025. The film, directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace with a narrative structure by Steven Knight, will first premiere in London on September 7 at Cineworld Leicester Square, followed by its festival debut at the Lido in Venice. It will then be released globally in IMAX theaters and on Disney+. The documentary offers unprecedented access to the Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, including their first joint interviews in 25 years, capturing backstage moments, rehearsals, and the evolution of their relationship. The film aims to explore the cultural and anthropological impact of the reunion, bridging Generation X and digital natives, and situates the band within the context of Cool Britannia and working-class pride. Venice Film Festival director Alberto Barbera confirmed the Gallagher brothers' presence at the Lido, turning their appearance into a media event. The documentary is positioned as a critical examination of the band's legacy rather than a mere nostalgic or commercial operation.
