O4 House by studiokian Balances Privacy and Openness in Suburban Tangerang

studiokian has completed the O4 House in Alam Sutera, Tangerang, Indonesia, a 500 m² residence designed to reconcile privacy with natural light in a dense suburban context. The house, completed in 2026, uses spatial sequencing of compression and release to create a retreat without full isolation. Its facade features layered horizontal volumes, deep recesses, and integrated vegetation that soften the transition between interior and exterior. The design emphasizes depth through shadow, overhangs, and framed openings rather than a singular formal gesture. Lead architects Kalvin Widjaja and Dian Indah led the project, with structural engineering by Indra Structural Works and construction by Inkland. The interior design was also handled by studiokian. The house is located in Kecamatan Serpong Utara, Indonesia.
