NYUAD Art Gallery's First Online Exhibition Responds to Public Commands

exhibition · 2026-04-27

NYUAD Art Gallery presents its first online exhibition, 'Not if, of, along, or related to a line,' running until July 10, 2021. The show explores the relationship between the pandemic and the digital universe, offering an alternative to traditional virtual tours. Nine international artists present eleven interactive pathways that viewers navigate via QR code, making subjective choices that alter the experiential journey. The exhibition draws on Deleuze and Guattari's rhizome theory, reflecting the non-hierarchical, networked structure of the internet. Featured artists include Cao Fei, Lee Barlock, Eva and Franco Mattes, and Zach Blas. The show is co-curated by Maya Allison, executive director of the gallery, and artist and biohacker Heather Dewey-Hagborg.
