NXTHVN Seeks Executive Director for Next Growth Phase

NXTHVN, the New Haven-based nonprofit founded in 2018 by artist Titus Kaphar and impact investor Jason Price, is hiring an Executive Director to lead the organization through its next chapter. The role comes as NXTHVN has expanded its Board of Directors to twelve members under new Board Chair Hassan Smith, deepening governance capacity. The organization operates a 40,000-square-foot creative campus with adjacent fellows' housing in the Dixwell neighborhood, one of the oldest African American communities in New England. NXTHVN runs a nationally recognized ten-month Fellowship Program for emerging and underrepresented artists and curators, a paid High School Apprenticeship Program for local teens, four professional exhibitions annually, and local strategic initiatives supporting entrepreneurship. The annual budget is approximately $2 million. The Executive Director will oversee fundraising, financial management, strategic planning, community engagement, and operations, reporting to the Board. The salary range is $175,000 to $200,000. The search is conducted by TOC Arts Partners, led by Edie Demas. Applications are accepted until the role is filled.
