Nxt Museum, First Dutch New Media Art Museum, Opens in Amsterdam

The Nxt Museum, the first institution in the Netherlands dedicated to New Media Art, will launch in Amsterdam on August 29. Established by Merel van Helsdingen, it spans over 2,000 square meters in Amsterdam Noord and includes a bar-restaurant and terrace. The museum emphasizes technological arts through various installations and performances. An announcement on June 3 outlined a program that includes exhibitions, performances, and educational initiatives, such as the Nxt Lab for artist collaboration. The opening exhibition, 'Shifting Proximities,' curated by Bogomir Doringer and Jesse Damiani, showcases works from Thijs Biersteker, Heleen Blanken, Roelof Knol, Marshmallow Laser Feast, Lucy McRae, and United Visual Artists. Co-founder Natasha Greenhalgh stressed the significance of collaboration.
