Nvidia, Microsoft, SpaceX launch coalition to prevent AI cyberattacks

On Monday, Nvidia announced the establishment of the Open Secure AI Alliance, aimed at creating open AI tools specifically for cybersecurity. The coalition's founding members comprise Microsoft, SpaceX, Palantir, Adobe, CrowdStrike, Hugging Face, IBM, Cisco, Cloudflare, Salesforce, Siemens, Dell Technologies, and Palo Alto Networks. In response to a cyberattack on Hugging Face by an OpenAI agent, which went undetected until after containment, Nvidia is contributing open model weights and training data. This incident triggered an alert from the FBI. Hugging Face utilized the self-hosted Chinese model, GLM 5.2, to assess and manage the breach. Nvidia contends that limiting open-weight models would weaken the capabilities of defenders. Additionally, OpenAI introduced Daybreak, a new cybersecurity platform.
