architecture-design · 2026-05-04

Nuvola Lavazza, a multifunctional complex designed by architect Cino Zucchi, opened today in Turin. Spanning over 30,000 square meters on the site of a former power plant in via Bologna, the project represents an investment of over 120 million euros. The complex houses Lavazza's new headquarters, a gourmet restaurant called Condividere with a concept by Ferran Adrià, set design by Dante Ferretti, and cuisine by chef Federico Zanasi. A company museum, curated by Ralph Appelbaum, will open to the public on June 8, featuring an immersive multimedia journey through Lavazza's 120-year history, with storytelling by Alessandro Baricco and his Scuola Holden. The site also includes an archaeological area with remains of an early Christian basilica, a large event space in the former Centrale power plant (Turin's first electrical plant from 1896), a bistrot open to the public, and the IAAD (Institute of Applied Art and Design) with over 700 students. Alberto Lavazza, President of the Group, stated: 'Nuvola Lavazza contains our memory and our future.' The project was co-created by the fourth generation of the Lavazza family with leading figures in architecture, food, set design, and design.
