Nussaibah Younis to Read in Berlin and Hannover

Nussaibah Younis, author of the acclaimed debut novel 'Fundamentalös', will hold readings in Berlin and Hannover in June. The novel, shortlisted for the 2025 Women's Prize for Fiction, uses dark British humor to explore extremism and the lives of young European women who joined ISIS. Younis, born in Manchester in 1986 to Iraqi-Pakistani parents, holds a PhD in International Affairs and works as a peace researcher and Iraq expert. She has advised the Iraqi government on deradicalization programs for ISIS women and led the Taskforce on the Future of Iraq in Washington DC. Her opinion pieces have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian, and the New York Times. The readings are scheduled for June 19 at Chapters Bookshop in Berlin and June 22 at Literarischer Salon in Hannover.
