Nuove Pratiche Fest returns to Palermo to discuss festival culture and creative economies

The Nuove Pratiche Fest, the sole festival dedicated to social and cultural innovation in Southern Italy, is set to take place in Palermo on March 23–24, 2018, hosted at the Goethe-Institut, Cre.zi. Plus, and Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa. This fourth edition, entitled "Il Paese dei festival," will delve into the significance of festivals within Italian culture through a series of workshops and discussions. Organized by CLAC and Pescevolante, and curated by Cristina Alga and Andrea Libero Carbone, it marks the launch of the new Artlab edition, supported by Fondazione Fitzcarraldo. On March 23, attendees can participate in a workshop called "Festival tra innovazione e sperimentazione," followed by a plenary session with Ugo Bacchella. On March 24, various invited festivals will showcase their programs, focusing on sustainability and community engagement in light of decreasing public funding.
