Nunzio's 1980s Works on View at Galleria dello Scudo in Verona
From December 14, 2024, to March 29, 2025, Galleria dello Scudo in Verona will host 'Nunzio Anni Ottanta,' an exhibition honoring sculptor Nunzio Di Stefano, born in 1954. The showcase, sourced from Fabio Sargentini's collection, includes fifteen pieces that highlight Nunzio's early artistic explorations. His inaugural solo exhibition took place in 1981 at Galleria Spatia, under the curation of Gabriella Drudi. Noteworthy works on display comprise 'Spleen' (1980), 'Conca' (1982), and 'Granito' (1983). In 1985, he began incorporating materials such as lampblack and lead, presenting significant works like 'Talismano' (1985) and 'Meteora' (1986). The 1980s marked a period of acclaim, including his participation in the Biennale of Sydney (1986) and winning the Premio 2000 at the XLII Venice Biennale.
