Numero Cromatico's Dream Posters Take Over Rome Streets

The Roman art collective Numero Cromatico has launched a public art project titled "Io vi darei tutto il mio amore" (I would give you all my love), plastering Rome with analog and digital posters featuring dream fragments collected from the public. The project is an offshoot of Somnium, a multi-subject work on dreams that the collective has been developing since 2022. For Somnium, Numero Cromatico distributed free devices at events, fairs, and exhibitions—with support from Untitled Association—to collect hundreds of dreams. The posters include a poem generated by one of their AIs, designed to stimulate dream recall. The work is presented in conjunction with the exhibition "Angels. Cinquant’anni di storie del Pastificio Cerere" curated by Marcello Smarrelli at Pastificio Cerere. In the courtyard of Pastificio Cerere, a large poster displays the stimulus poem, while fragments of participants' dreams appear across the city. Visitors can also pick up a device at Pastificio Cerere to contribute their own dreams. The collective's goals include engaging the public in a collective dream performance, testing whether poem fragments can influence dream narratives, and creating an anthology of collected material.
