Nugnes 1920 opens new flagship in historic Palazzo Pugliese, Trani

other · 2026-04-27

Nugnes 1920, a multi-brand fashion retailer in Trani, Italy, has opened a new two-floor flagship inside the historic Palazzo Pugliese on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, spanning over 1,000 square meters. The store carries ready-to-wear for men and women from 250 brands including Bottega Veneta, Prada, Versace, Ferragamo, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Balmain, GCDS, Off-White, Moncler, Kenzo, Fay, and Golden Goose. The space was designed by owner Beppe Nugnes together with Dini Cataldi studio, featuring three main areas: a bespoke salon with a gentlemen's club atmosphere, a cosmopolitan globetrotter section in black and white, and an intimate womenswear department upstairs with backlit fabric walls and vintage seating. Ground floor decor mixes Berlin club antiques with Italian design icons by Osvaldo Borsani and Cassina. For the opening, art director Susanna Cucco created an installation with 50 Autumn/Winter 2021 looks inside a mirrored cube on the terrace, plus eight windows wrapped in white cloth tied with string, referencing Nugnes' childhood packaging fabrics. Ten additional windows told the brand's story. The opening event featured architects, stylists, art directors, and DJs. Nugnes 1920 was founded in the 1920s by Giuseppe Nugnes, who brought modern elegance from Milan to Trani. A men's boutique opened in 1956, women's in 1989. The third generation now runs the business.
