NU Arts and Community Festival Launches in Novara
The interdisciplinary festival NU Arts and Community, organized by Associazione Culturale Rest-Art in collaboration with Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, will take place in Novara from September 29 to October 4, 2020. The festival features dance, theater, music, literature, circus, and visual arts, with all performances being new productions. Artistic director Ricciarda Belgiojoso, former director of Piano City Milano, has programmed seven ticketed events and six free community workshops. The opening night includes a screening of short films by William Kentridge, presented by Andrea Lissoni, former curator at Tate Modern and now director of Haus der Kunst Munich. Other highlights include Federica Fracassi's 'Variazioni Furiose,' Daniele Ninarello's 'Pastorale,' and a closing concert 'Le Retour à la Raison' by Teho Tehardo for Man Ray's films, featuring a collective performance by local guitarists. The festival aims to revitalize cultural engagement in Novara, a mid-sized Italian city historically overshadowed by nearby Turin and Milan.
