November 2016 Art Highlights Across Asia and Beyond: Biennials, Fairs, and Solo Shows
In November 2016, a wave of art events unfolds both in Asia and around the globe. The 11th Shanghai Biennale, under the curation of Raqs Media Collective, is set from 12 November to 12 March at the Power Station of Art, featuring 92 artists from 40 nations. On the same day, the third Nanjing International Art Festival opens at Baijia Lake Museum, displaying over 400 pieces by 315 artists. Additionally, the Colombo Art Biennale 2016 occurs from 2 to 20 December, showcasing 40 artists. Shanghai also hosts Art 021 (10–13 November) and West Bund Art & Design (9–13 November), with prominent exhibitions like Alex Katz at West Bund and Guan Xiao at Chi K11. The Kochi-Muziris Biennale is scheduled from 12 December to 29 March.
