Nous nous sommes tant aimés: Love-Themed Group Show at Les Collections de St-Cyprien

Les Collections de St-Cyprien, directed by Sébastien Planas, presented the group exhibition "Nous nous sommes tant aimés" from June 10 to September 30, 2006, co-curated with Parisian gallerist Kamel Mennour. The show explored the theme of love through works by 17 international artists, avoiding clichés. Highlights included Nobuyoshi Araki's intimate series "Sentimental Journey" and "Winter Journey," the latter documenting his wife's final days; Andres Serrano's diptych from "The Morgue" series echoing Michelangelo's Creation of Adam; Adel Abdessemed's video "Real Time" featuring public lovemaking; Camille Henrot's poetic film overlaying hand-drawn animations on 1970s porn; and Wim Delvoye's X-rays of fellatio. Family love was represented by Larry Clark and Alberto Garcia-Alix, while Jeff Koons contributed self-promotional magazine covers from the late 1980s. The venue, a small seaside town near Perpignan, planned to move to a new 1,200 sqm space in summer 2007.
