Norwegian police arrest Chinese woman on espionage allegations

On Thursday, Norwegian authorities detained a Chinese woman, suspecting her of trying to establish a satellite receiver for gathering sensitive information. The Police Security Service (PST) claims she was affiliated with a Norwegian-registered company that serves as a front for a Chinese state entity. Investigations took place at two locations: one on Andøya, where Andøya Spaceport, a significant European space facility, is located, and another in southern Norway's Innlandet. The authorities confiscated the receiver and disrupted the alleged plans. PST attorney Thomas Blom indicated that the case pertains to involvement in a serious espionage attempt targeting state secrets.
