Norwegian Critic and Artist Peter J. Amdam Dies at 45

Peter J. Amdam, a multifaceted figure in the Norwegian art scene, passed away in 2016. Based in Oslo, he worked as a critic, curator, musician, and artist. His academic background included studies in comparative literature and aesthetic theory at the University of Oslo. Amdam curated exhibitions such as 'Refraction: The Image Of Sense' at Blain|Southern in London and 'Life: Within Such Limits' at Carl Kostyál in Stockholm. His artistic debut occurred in spring 2014 with the solo exhibition 'From the Depths of Separation' at Lynx in Oslo, following earlier collaborations with artist Matias Faldbakken. He was also a prominent member of the Norwegian Straight Edge music community, performing with bands including Onward, Sportswear, and For Pete’s Sake.
