Norman Foster Named Guest Editor of Domus for 2024

publication · 2026-04-27

Norman Foster, who won the Pritzker Prize in 1999, will step in as Guest Editor for Domus magazine in 2024. He will oversee ten issues using the 10x10x10 format that started in 2018, which allows prominent architects to shape the magazine’s storyline as it nears its 100th anniversary. Foster follows a lineup of past editors, including Michele De Lucchi and Steven Holl. There’s been some pushback about the absence of women in this role, with only Toshiko Mori having participated. His first issue will launch in January 2024, following a special monograph on December 6, 2023, discussing his 'compact city' concept for sustainable urban living. Walter Mariotti praised Foster’s depth and vision. Born in 1935, he remains active, advocating for Ukraine's reconstruction and recently receiving recognition at the Centre Pompidou.
