NORM Architects' Shoreline Studio Blends Danish and Japanese Design

architecture-design · 2026-05-06

Shoreline Studio, a retreat designed for artistic exploration, has been finalized by NORM Architects in Denmark's rugged coastal setting. The team, comprising Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen, Peter Eland, Victor Ohn-Breumlund, and Sofie Bak, integrated interior design and styling by Nathalie Schwer, merging traditional Danish architecture with the reflective qualities of Japanese design. This studio serves as a distinct yet harmonious extension of a family summerhouse, positioned where the meadow transitions to dunes and pines sway in the coastal winds. Despite its modest size, the space exudes a welcoming atmosphere, where light, materials, and the surrounding landscape come together. Hadir Al Koshta curated the project, with photography by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen and Karl Tranberg Knudsen.
