Nora N. Khan Joins Andrea Bellini as Co-Curator for 2023 Biennale de l'Image en Mouvement

festival-fair · 2026-04-20

The Centre d'Art Contemporain Genève has named critic and curator Nora N. Khan as co-curator for the 2023 Biennale de l'Image en Mouvement, working alongside director Andrea Bellini. All works presented at the Geneva event in November 2023 will be newly commissioned pieces. Khan previously taught at Rhode Island School of Design from 2018 to 2021 and curated the 2020 exhibition Manual Override at The Shed in New York. Founded in 1985 as the International Video Week by André Iten, the biennial was relaunched in its current format by CACG in 2014. The 2023 edition will investigate how emerging technologies and ideologies influence moving image production. A full artist roster will be announced in September 2022. In ArtReview, Rebecca O'Dwyer characterized the 2022 edition as bleak, frustrating, and insistently contemporary. The event showcases multimedia installations, films, documentaries, and live performances while maintaining a focus on emerging artists.
