Nonprofit Spaces Exhibition at Farmacia Wurmkos

Curated by Alessandra Pioselli, the exhibition 'La terra è bassa, 10 luoghi per 10 progetti' at Farmacia Wurmkos in Sesto San Giovanni showcases ten Italian nonprofit spaces that have worked with local communities for as many years. The display includes documents, publications, maps, and wall graphics highlighting different philosophies. Featured projects include Progetto Diogene, which uses a tram car in Turin, and Viaindustriae in Foligno, a mixed group of architects that organizes residencies and previously collaborated with Sol LeWitt. The exhibition emphasizes contemporary art detached from the market. Farmacia Wurmkos itself has addressed mental distress through art for 25 years. Pioselli noted the projects generate micro-economies and maintain constant territorial presence. Artists Francesca Damiano and Monica Carrera founded Case Sparse in Valcamonica, speaking of 'intermittent communities'. Educational aspects include the Scuola Civica di Arte Contemporanea in Sulcis and Nuova Didattica Popolare by Pietro Gaglianò within GAP Guilmi Art Project.
