Nomos Edizioni: 25 Years of Art Publishing and Children's Books

publication · 2026-04-27

Nomos Edizioni, founded in 1997 as an art and exhibition catalogue publisher, has evolved into a dual-focused independent house producing high-end illustrated books and children's literature. Owner Emanuele Tosi explains that since 2016, children's books have become half of their output, targeting young readers and families alongside art professionals. The publisher thrives in Italy's challenging book market by leveraging the lively children's segment and the virtuous synergy between readers, publishers, and commissions in art publishing. Notable titles include 'Il linguaggio dei gioielli nei dipinti degli Uffizi' by Silvia Malaguzzi, which exemplifies their art publishing expertise, and '494 – Bauhaus al femminile', selected for the ADI Design Index with graphic design by Andrea Amato. Their illustrated atlases series by Sarah Zambello and Susy Zanella (Nuvolario, Ondario, Cometario, Ventario) has achieved international success through translation rights sales. Nomos admires Johan & Levi for art and Terre di Mezzo for children's books. Upcoming projects include a book on readability in children's literature and, starting in 2024, self-produced photography and contemporary art exhibitions in Val d'Aosta and Le Marche. They continue collaborations with museum institutions for new titles.
