NoMad: New Anti-Academic Curatorial Course Launches in Rome and Milan

other · 2026-05-04

Gianluca Marziani, with Maria Chiara Valacchi, has launched NoMad, a non-conventional curatorial course designed for the 'liquid society' of the new millennium. The course avoids traditional classrooms and lectures, instead offering eight days of itinerant visits split between Rome (four days) and Milan (four days). Participants will meet artists, designers, and professionals including Matteo Basilè, Masbedo, Riccardo Beretta, Alberto Di Fabio, architect-designer Patricia Urquiola, and architect Stefano Boeri. The program includes theoretical reflections and practical workshops, such as a video language session with Masbedo and a low-resolution video project to be broadcast on a satellite TV channel. NoMad targets no specific age or background, aiming to attract young applicants but also older professionals from fields like communication who seek to understand the art project pipeline from conception to exhibition. The course dates will be announced on www.no-mad.it.
