Noma Documentary: Art as a Response to Illness

Alessandra Laganà and Tommaso Marletta's documentary 'Noma' explores how creativity can confront pain. The film, which won the Humanitarian Award at the Accolade Global Film Competition 2017, follows Alessandra, a lawyer and musician, after her breast cancer diagnosis. Shot across Rome, Milan, Reggio Calabria, Lanzarote, Turin, and Palermo, it features encounters with others who shared her experience. The project was inspired by meeting director Andrès Arce Maldonado. The film will be presented in Rome on May 14 at 6 PM at WE GIL, Largo Ascianghi.
