Spain has no cinema projecting in both IMAX and 70mm formats simultaneously, making Montpellier the nearest destination for Spanish fans. The film, based on Homer's epic, has also sparked controversy, as a prestigious translator of Homer criticized Nolan's adaptation, stating she would be ashamed to have written such a work. The cinema's popularity has boosted Montpellier's online searches, though not for its usual attractions like landscapes or heritage.
