Noa Noa Art Residency: Bali Artist Retreat Inspired by Gauguin

other · 2026-05-05

Inspired by Paul Gauguin's Tahitian escape, the Noa Noa Art Residency launches in Bali, offering international artists a creative haven. Founded by Martina Corbetta of Martina's Gallery via the Associazione Culturale Middlemist, the program selects five artists through an open call (deadline April 30, 2017) judged by Corbetta, Roberto Pisoni, Rossella Farinotti, and Matteo Bergamini. Winners stay from July 1 to 17, 2017, in a Seminyak villa with private pool and Jacuzzi, provided with materials and a structured program including studio assistance, cultural excursions, and local artist interactions. The residency culminates in two exhibitions: one at a local Bali gallery and another at Martina's Gallery in Monza Brianza, Italy, by December 2017. The initiative targets artists of any age skilled in painting, drawing, illustration, installation, photography, video art, or digital art, aiming to foster creativity in an Indonesian natural setting.
