NMAI launches national quilt-along for US semiquincentennial
The Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) is organizing a nationwide mystery-style quilt-along project to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, offering a Native perspective on the nation's evolution. Running from June to October 2025, the project invites participants to sign up on the museum's website and create a commemorative quilt. Each month (June through October), a new pattern designed by a contemporary Native artist will be revealed via email and on the website, with each block measuring 10 by 10 inches and a border of 5 inches. The patterns represent different geographic regions of the United States. The project is open to all.
