Nilbar Güreş Wins 2015 BC21 Art Award with €20,000 Prize
Turkish artist Nilbar Güreş has been named the winner of the 2015 BC21 Art Award, receiving a €20,000 prize. The award is presented every two years through a partnership between the Boston Consulting Group and the Belvedere museum. Güreş's educational background includes studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and Marmara University Istanbul. She has participated in artist residencies across four international cities: Malmö, Auckland, São Paulo, and New York. Previous recognition includes the 2014 Msgr. Otto Mauer-Award and the 2013 Professor-Hilde-Goldschmidt-Award. Her work is currently displayed at the 21er Haus alongside pieces by fellow nominees Andreas Duscha, Sarah Pichlkostner, and Hannes Zebedin. This exhibition continues through November 29, 2015. The announcement was made on October 30, 2015.
