Nil Yalter's 'Skin Story' Opens at T H E P I L L ® New Paris Space
T H E P I L L ® presents Nil Yalter's solo exhibition 'Skin Story' at its new Paris location, 4 Place de Valois. Curated by Eda Berkmen, the show features works from 1974 to 2008, including the interactive digital piece 'Skin Story' (2002) and the first-ever display of the 'Menopause' drawings (1986). Yalter, awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the 60th Venice Biennale in 2024, explores body politics, migration, gender, and labor rights. The exhibition also includes her seminal video 'The Headless Woman or Belly Dance' (1974) and 'Hommage to Marquis de Sade' (1989), created for the Le Havre Festival. Yalter, a pioneer in video and computer art, has exhibited at major institutions including Museum Ludwig, MAC VAL, WIELS, and participated in biennials such as Sharjah, Berlin, Gwangju, and Istanbul. Her work is in collections like MoMA, Tate Modern, Centre Pompidou, and Museo Reina Sofia.
