Nikima Jagudajev's Playable Film 'Like' Debuts at Scuola Piccola Zattere, Venice
From May 7 to October 18, 2026, Nikima Jagudajev, an artist and choreographer, will unveil 'Like,' a fresh commission at Scuola Piccola Zattere in Venice. This innovative piece combines film and video games to create an interactive digital space, utilizing documentary clips and building on Jagudajev's ongoing project 'Basically' (2020–present). In 'Like,' participants take on the role of an avatar representing a real performer within a virtual high school, engaging in a non-linear narrative filled with live-action scenes, dialogues, and mini-games. These activities encompass dance phrases, guitar compositions, and discussions. Additionally, the exhibition showcases new textile works, including embroidered panels and a large cotton quilt designed for community involvement, hosted at the nonprofit's palazzo in Dorsoduro.
